Core of the function: To provide specialized nursing care to premature infants, neonates, sick infants and children up to 18 years of age. Taking care of maternity women and guiding parents or carers. The nurse subscribes to one of the current professional codes, such as NU 91 / V&VN, CNV public affairs / ABVAKABO / FNV, RMU and is registered in the BIG register.

- Guiding and informing patients and their parents/carers.
- Coordinating care around different patient categories.
- Performing administrative and other tasks.
- Contribute to the training of students to become a pediatric nurse, and also provide work guidance to fellow nurses, students and trainees.
- Ensuring the promotion of expertise and professionalization.
- Coordinating and directing patient logistics and staffing and distribution in consultation with on-duty specialists. (planning coordinator)
- Perform triage and A&E function.
